Data Discovery Analyst (potential to develop into Data Modeller)

Responsibilities:

• Supporting Business Process Owners (BPO) and the Group Data Utility (GDU) to implement data governance procedures and monitor compliance
• Understand the ESG process landscape within HSBC and the sequencing of business processes and interdependencies between them
• Liaising with BPOs and Pod Leads to understand data consumed and produced by processes
• Documenting business terms on behalf of BPOs in Data Discovery Templates
• Documenting the underlying system (physical & logical) metadata associated with business terms in Data Discovery Templates

• Overseeing data governance demands through JIRA to ensure timely and satisfactory delivery of GDU services

Experience & Skills:

• Experience of data governance and other data management activities.
• Good knowledge of industry standards and regulations on data management (i.e., DCAM, BCBS 239, etc.)
• Experience in managing data governance demands and delivery of data governance services
• Problem solver with ability to find practical solutions and prevent delays
• Influencing skills, able to gain support and buy in from stakeholders
• Strong communicator with excellent oral and written skills
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Proficiency with JIRA
